A Grassroots Cycling Culture Incubator

Ride Broomfield, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community partner with the City and County of Broomfield, uniquely unites governments, community partners, and local businesses. Our shared goal is to enrich Broomfield's cycling culture, enhance residents' cycling experience, and remove barriers to using bicycles for work, leisure, and daily life in Broomfield. Together, we can make a significant impact on our community.

Ride Broomfield actively promotes cycling culture by organizing various social events. These include community rides, bike workshops, and cycling festivals designed to engage and inspire the community.

Ride Broomfield is unwavering in its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive cycling community. We warmly embrace riders of all ages and abilities, whether they cycle for social, recreational, or sportive purposes. Your unique perspective and experience are highly valued here.

Ride Broomfield firmly believes every child and adult who needs it should have access to cycling education, helmets, lights, and even bicycles. These resources are not just desirable; they're vital for their safety and enjoyment, and we are committed to ensuring they are available to all community members.

Through our Community Bike Kitchen and partnership with Broomfield FISH, Ride Broomfield restores donated bikes and will eventually provide regular maintenance. We distribute them to low— or no-income residents, helping to bridge the transportation gap.

Your involvement is not only welcomed but crucial to our mission. We firmly believe that together, we can significantly impact our community. Join us in promoting the cycling culture in Broomfield!

Our Team

Carson Blume

Founding Director/President

As a professional photographer with over fifteen years of experience, Carson's life changed dramatically in 2005 when he was hit head-on by a distracted driver. This event inspired him to become a cycling advocate and establish Ride Redding, a Cycling Culture Incubator in his hometown.

His move to Broomfield was driven by the city's impressive network of cycling paths and its central location in the northwest Denver metro. Carson remains determined to turn his cycling dreams into reality in Broomfield, drawing from his experiences in Redding and Santa Barbara.

Phil Sutton

Director/Treasurer

Phil has been visiting Colorado since the mid-90s. He and his family decided to make it their home in 2020. They chose Broomfield for its excellent schools, unique proximity to the city and countryside, and, of course, the many miles of bike paths.

Phil is passionate about cycling, especially long-distance road routes.  Riding the roads in the North Metro Denver area, he has seen the need for more cycling education and advocacy, making Ride Broomfield a great fit.

Phil and his wife Vanessa own Assisting Hands Broomfield, a non-medical home care company.  They are both deeply involved in Boy Scouts and piloting a cycling program in their Scout troop.

David Moeller

Director/VP

David is a recreational cyclist riding local roads, paved paths, gravel, and MTB trails from Cherry Creek to Ft Collins to Salida, as well as bike commuting to downtown Denver twice a week. Like most people (hopefully!), David started riding bikes as a kid as a means of freedom to go to friends’ houses, to the local park and longer rides to more distant attractions as a teenager. Cycling has always been a functional mode of transportation but also a tremendous source of enjoyment. David has never raced or ridden for any reason other than for fun, fitness, or transportation. Cycling is an excellent way to experience the world and offers a far more pedestrian interaction with the environment than driving, but it offers more speed and efficiency than simply walking. As a strong believer in the enjoyment of cycling, David cycles at home as well as whenever possible when traveling, bringing a greater sense of immersion and enriching the experience of new places.

David believes in cycling as an accessible and practical form of transportation and enjoyment and hopes to help bring cycling to the broader community. David is committed to sharing principles of safety, respect, mutual support, and FUN with everyone - non-cyclists, aspiring cyclists, experienced cyclists and motorists. Bikes are for everyone!

Stacey Giffin

Director/Secretary

Tech geek by day, bike enthusiast by day and night. Stacey got her start on two wheels as a bike commuter, which quickly escalated to exploring trails by MTB. After purchasing a gravel bike last year she has fully committed to the way of the cyclist. She wants to see more people on bikes and provide safe routes to commute within Broomfield.

My favorite local ride is riding to Acreage via Rock Creek Open Space for sunset yoga.

Favorite ride snack: Strawberry pop tarts and stinger waffles.

Favorite post-ride beverage: Strawberry lemonade.
